Our Church History
Founded in 1877, Greater St. John AME Church has been a steadfast presence in our community for over 140 years. From our humble beginnings, we have grown in faith, service, and commitment to sharing the love of Christ. Throughout the years, our church has weathered challenges, celebrated triumphs, and continually impacted the lives of those around us.

In 2023, we joyfully entered a new chapter with the dedication of the NEW Greater St. John AME Church on January 1st. After decades of service in our previous building, we marched forward with faith and excitement into this new space—a symbol of God's continued blessings and the enduring spirit of our congregation. Today, we stand tall, rooted in our rich history while looking ahead with hope and purpose as we continue to serve our community and fulfill our mission.
